Appendix A - Field Specifications

This appendix will hold the complete Field reference:

1. Bill of materials, with official part numbers.
2. Scoring Object starting positions on the Racks and Cargo Tile Plates.
3. Field construction, dimensions (12’ x 12’), and setup tolerances (<T5>).
4. Venue guidance, including a recommended minimum ceiling height above the Field.

This appendix names the four sides of the Field. Figure FO-1 shows the Flight Station side at the top.

• Flight Station side: the side with both Field Platforms and both Flight Stations.
• Blue side: the side nearest the Blue Goals.
• Red side: the side nearest the Red Goals.
• Audience side: the side with the Ring Tunnel, opposite the Flight Stations.

The two corners on the Flight Station side are the Blue corner and the Red corner.

Scoring Object Starting Positions

Set up the Field the same way before every Match. All 38 Scoring Objects start on a Rack or a Cargo Tile Plate. None start on the Field Tiles, in a Goal, or on a Drone.

Long Rack

The Long Rack Goal runs diagonally across the center of the Field. It holds 16 Scoring Objects total, eight on each side of its center support. Figure A-1 shows the layout of Scoring Objects starting with the end nearest the Blue Cargo Platform Goal.

Short Rack

Each Short Rack holds six Orbit Balls and no Cargo.

• Blue-side Short Rack, between the Blue Pole Goal and the Long Rack: starting at the end nearest the Blue Pole Goal, four Blue Orbit Balls, then two Red Orbit Balls. Shown in Figure A-2.
• Red-side Short Rack, between the Red Cargo Platform Goal and the Long Rack: starting at the end nearest the Long Rack, two Blue Orbit Balls, then four Red Orbit Balls. Shown in Figure A-3.

Cargo Tile Plates

Each Cargo Tile Plate holds one Cargo. The organization of the Cargo is described below and shown in Figure A-4.

• Blue side: four plates along the border, each with a Blue Cargo.
• Flight Station side: two plates, one on each side of the Drop Zone Goal, each with a White Cargo.
• Red side: four plates along the border, each with a Red Cargo.
